Mission
“In the Missions Ministry, we want to help as many people as possible take their
Next Step toward Jesus Christ.”
Vision
To equip believers who Go Share, following the path of Acts 1:8. First in Sumter, then in South Carolina, then the United States, and to the ends of the earth.
Strategy
Seeking – Finding people who are in need; the least of these (Luke 19:10)
Sharing – Our resources, our gifts and our stories (Philippians 2:3-4)
Serving – Feeding, caring, building, moving, cleaning, etc. (1 Peter 4:10)
Sending – Equipping our people to be effective missionaries locally, nationally and globally (Acts 1:8)
Value
We believe everyone has a purpose.
Serve Locally
As an ever-growing body of Christ, we thrive to serve people in their own culture and communities. Having multiple campuses allows us to build church cultures specific to the immediate members and grow more intimate relationships with them.
HELPSThe HELPS Ministry of Alice Drive Baptist Church serves people in the local community who have needs they cannot accomplish (wheelchair ramps, yardwork, etc.).

Stitches of LoveMeets 2nd Saturday of every month @ 10am – 3pm The Cabin on Loring Mill Campus | 1305 Loring Mill Rd
Stitches of Love is a quilting ministry of ADBC. Their mission is to be the hands of Jesus by using their gifts and talents to bless others. In addition to doing fun projects together, they make baby quilts to donate to the crisis pregnancy centers in Sumter, to the young military couples at Shaw Air Force Base who go through parenting classes, to local nursing homes, and to members of the church who have babies. They make comfort caps for ladies who have lost their hair due to chemo or other medical reasons.
We welcome those who may be interested in sewing. If you don’t know how to sew, we will teach you. There are no dues or charges to our participants. For more information: Email Libby Singletary at libby7168@yahoo.com or join their Facebook page: Stitches of Love Quilt Ministry. |

Sumter United MinistriesSumter United Ministries is one of our largest local mission partners. One of the ways we serve alongside them is by doing “Pack the Pantry” three times a year when we ask our church family to donate food items, which helps to re-stock their food supplies. All these donations are then distributed to families in need right here in the Sumter Community.
Our Bishopville Campus also participates and shares its donations with the Mt. Calvary Food Pantry. |
Willow DriveOur church partners with Willow Drive Elementary School in Sumter to provide care packages – food & snacks – for kids who may come into school hungry and may not readily have access to food away from school. This need is met through our LIFE Groups as one of their GO Share mission projects. |
CrosswellWe work with Crosswell Children’s Home in Sumter to help foster children and families. We celebrate each child’s birthday by buying items from their “Wish List” and providing a homemade meal once a month through our “Second Sunday Suppers” program. We also pray for the children, their families, caregivers, and the staff at Crosswell during these efforts and through the ADBC Prayer Ministry. |
Durant’s Children CenterDurant Children’s Center, another of our church’s local mission partners, is a child advocacy center serving Sumter County. Its mission is to reduce and prevent child abuse and neglect. We serve them, primarily through our LIFE Groups, by helping to beautify their site and providing needed supplies as they seek to serve kids and families. |
Serve Nationally
We plan trips each year to various parts of the country to serve our national communities that are underprivileged or experiencing suffering.
Our church sent a team to Newport, TN, to help with Hurricane Helene relief efforts. The storm caused extensive damage to water facilities and infrastructure. Our team provided water to those in need at FBC Newport.
Want to continue helping with relief efforts after Hurricane Helene? You can join a Chainsaw or Warehouse Team in the Chimney Rock/Lake Lure area. The first team will serve from November 7-10. See below for a list of dates for more opportunities. You must be 16 years or older to join a team. To ask questions or sign up, please text Travis Pruden at (803) 468-8840 or email him.

Serve Globally
Honduras
Each year, Alice Drive Baptist Church sends between 40 and 60 people from six states in the US to support our partner organization, Baptist Medical & Dental Mission International (BMDMI). These trips provide medical and dental treatment, evangelism, prescriptions, clothing and shoes, glasses and sunglasses, and other vital services to various villages throughout Honduras. In addition, our team members support BMDMI’s Bible Institute and the BMDMI Hospital.
Registration is now open for the next trip to Honduras, scheduled for May 23-30, 2025. Please contact Travis Pruden if you have any questions. The team leaving in May 2025 will serve at the Good Shephard Children’s Home and Good Shephard Christian Academy that week. During their last week of school (all subjects are taught in English), they will help the kids with their schoolwork, teach VBS in the evening, love the parents who care for them during the day, and do some additional projects at both sites.
We hope to add two new trips to Toronto, Canada, and Madrid, Spain, in 2025. Please stay tuned for more information!
